Intuition First, Concept Second

Something about beginnings.. something about becoming. Though it has just begun, this is an interesting piece already, the beginnings of a still life of used reins painted in a spiral.

For a while, I have had this idea in my mind to execute but only recently started. I also recently started researching the meaning behind the spiral design. It is amazing what you can find once you start searching. I think some work we start with the concept first and the work follows; however, lately, I am finding these images in my mind before any realized concept, and then once I’m researching them I find their meanings.

Some of the greatest parts of speeches were unscripted and I think it is important to develop the ability to know when to “go off script.”
